The Museum of Education renews its Thursday afternoon opening, offering the experience of discovering the collections and the newly inaugurated exhibition “The ‘La Gioconda’ open-air school in Este: an experience ahead of its time.“
Admission is free and open to individual visitors, families, and small groups.
The museum also offers a 60-min guided tour, in two time slots: 14.00 – 15.00, and 15.00 – 16.00Â

Groups: book a guided tour
Groups (up to 23 people) can visit the museum accompanied by our guide for a fee.
The guided 60-min tour is aimed at groups of up to 23 people. It allows visitors to learn about and explore the museum as they view its collections, savoring the preserved historical-educational heritage and discovering its relationship with individual and our collective, culture, and society. The tour includes a visit to the four exhibition rooms dedicated to school education, leisure time, teaching tools, schoolwork, open-air schools, and the archive.

WHERE WE ARE
The Museum of Education is in via degli Obizzi 23, a short walk from Padua Cathedral, and is easily accessible by various public transport or on foot.
HOW TO REACH US
By car
A4 Torino – Trieste autostrada | Padova Ovest or Padova Est exit.
A13 Bologna – Padova autostrada | Padova Sud or Padova Zona Industriale exit.
The museum is in a limited traffic zone (ZTL) inaccessible to private cars and buses.
To reach the museum on foot we recommend parking your car at the nearby car parks:
- Park Insurrezione | Piazza dell’Insurrezione, 10/B, 35137 Padova (about 10 min walk)
- Park Prandina | Via Niccolò Orsini, 35139 Padova (16 min walk)
- Park Porte Contarine | Via Giacomo Matteotti, 21/A, 35137 Padova (13 min walk)
Or for those who prefer to leave their car outside the center, there are park and ride car parks served by the tram, such as Park Pontevigodarzere and Park Guizza.
On foot
- From Padua train station: the museum is about a 23-minute walk (1.7 km).
- From the city center: The museum is in the heart of the historic center, easily reachable on foot from Piazza Duomo (2 min), Piazza delle Erbe (4 min), Basilica of Saint Anthony (15 min), and from Prato della Valle (17 min).
