FOR SCHOOLS
The Museum of Education at the University of Padua is committed to providing a diverse and engaging educational experience for students of all levels. Every year, the museum hosts numerous school groups, offering workshops that blend theory with hands-on learning for a dynamic educational experience.
We offer a range of educational experiences that highlight our rich collections, promoting a critical and creative approach to history and educational heritage. Students can explore the past through games and teaching aids, learn about the history of children in Padua during World War I, and even take on the role of a teacher from the past!
Our educational offerings are divided into two main categories:
- Guided Tours, which provide an in-depth exploration of the museum’s full collection.
- Educational Workshops, where students participate in activities at the museum, enhancing their understanding through direct interaction with exhibits.

For a detailed overview, you can download our PDF with the complete educational offerings. Alternatively, browse through our proposals based on the school grade, and discover how the Museum of Education can enrich the educational journey of your students by offering them an authentic, stimulating connection with historical and educational heritage.
BROWSE THROUGH OUR PROPOSALS
The Museum of Education proposes a variety of educational experiences that enhance the rich heritage of collections and stimulate a critical and creative approach to memory and historical-educational heritage: through games and teaching aids of the past, discovering the history of children in Padua during the First World War, improvising as teachers at the school of the past!
The offer is divided into two types of proposals: Guided Tours, which allow one to know and deepen the museum path in its entirety, and Educational Workshops, which propose activities to be carried out at the museum. The complete educational offer of the Museum of Education for the school year 2024/25 can be consulted in the catalogue of the educational offer.
PLAN A VISIT
How many classes together?
Educational activities take place in a dedicated room. We can conduct one educational workshop at a time in the space we have available, and we can accommodate a maximum of 23 people at the Museum premises. We can propose some targeted activities to involve the group that would otherwise be excluded. While the first group will carry out the educational workshop in the museum room, the second group can:
- OptionA: Visit one of the other museums of the University of Padua, Palazzo Bo, headquarters of the University.
- OptionB: Visit one of the following cultural places: – Padua Cathedral (Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta) – Palazzo della Regione – Basilica of Saint Anthony – Palazzo Bo
- OptionC: Walk through the historic center and the ancient Jewish ghetto quarter.
- OptionD: Do something else, at the discretion of the teachers

PCTO
The Museum of Education offers a transversal skills pathway for orientation (PCTO), specifically designed for High Schools, with a particular focus on the High School of Human Sciences. This program invites students to explore various themes through the objects preserved in the museum, with a special emphasis on social and cultural inclusion. Students will engage in activities that not only deepen their understanding of history and education but also foster critical thinking and empathy around inclusive practices and cultural awareness. It’s an opportunity for students to connect theory with real-world applications, enriching their educational journey.
